The Esteemed (ES)

Esteemed types have a high reputation or honour for something thus exerting their influence by reason of their status.

  • Esteemed Rationals (ESj) tend to lead or direct others into action or ease with finesse and precision. This makes them ideal for any role where somebody has to "know what's best" for everyone else's sakes.
  • Esteemed Irrationals (ESp) tend to marshal or amass others together for the purpose of achieving something either socially (or commercially). This makes them ideal for any role that requires someone to "be in control" for everyone else's sakes.

The Distinguished (EN)

Distinguished types exist as the only one or as the sole example of something thus solitary in type or characteristics.

  • Distinguished Rationals (ENj) tend to have unique idealistic views that they use to re-unite others for achieving a goal or vision.
  • Distinguished Irrationals (ENp) tend to have unique optimistic views that they use to negotiate what they need out of others.

The Hopeful (IS)

Hopeful types exist for the pursuit of a contented state of well-being, happiness, health and prosperity.

  • Hopeful Rationals (ISj) tend to have aggressive faiths in ways of life, business models or religions that will satisfy their needs.
  • Hopeful Irrationals (ISp) tend to have easygoing beliefs in what will satisfy their needs in regards to the pursuits mentioned previously.

The Confident (IN)

Confident types have a realistic assurance in their own judgement, ability, power to accomplish something etc.

  • Confident Rationals (INj) tend to have dedicated world-views that usually become part of their personal philosophy that would get defended whenever challenged.
  • Confident Irrationals (INp) tend to have reserved world-views that usually allow them to act with self-containment without too much care of what others think.

Conclusions

  • The famous inventor and businessman, Thomas Edison was an esteemed ESTj. He used his influence to push-ahead with developing inventions that others thought were not worth the time. He clearly demonstrated a "fatherly attitude"1 of knowing what's best for others and society in general.
  • The creator of Socionics, Aushra Augusta was a distinguished ENTp. The Socionics line of thought is relatively unique and stands apart from previous ones. There is also an element of optimism2 in Socionics that because we can now accurately predict the courses of the 16 relationship types that somehow this will benefit society for the better.
  • The Amercian talk show host, "Dr Phil" is a hopeful ISTj who shares his "aggressive attitude"3 on how to live a prosperous life. He usually has a no-nonsense "do what I say" pragmatic approach to his audience.
  • The classic English naturist, Charles Darwin was a confident INTp who reservedly developed his world-views despite "having seen others attacked as heretics for such ideas"4.
