Small groups (or quaternions) are sets of four types who have a common theme that is comparable or have observable social effects. According to Reinin1 at least 35 types of small group are obtained by the differing spectrum of interpersonal relations.

Comparable themes
These groups share things like common interests, lifestyle motivations or articulation styles etc.
* Quadras represent a major "umbrella" group since it brings together four types who share special motivations and world outlooks.
* Clubs represent a secondary "umbrella" group that brings together four types who share similar "occupational mindsets" with similar interests making them ripe for a mastermind group.
* Temperaments class four types who have common natures in response to the environment.
* Stimuli sets share similar notable character traits or qualities that usually appear prominent to others.
* Argumentation is the name given for sets that share similar ways of dealing with the world having notable skills or abilities.
* Erotic Attitudes, discovered by Gulenko who matched up types with similar romance styles that seem to stem from the selfish and aggressive Freudian id.
* Communication Skills, also discovered by Gulenko who noticed types with similar styles of speech that would affect a relationship.
* Pedagogic Needs, a re-hash of the four humors considering what different types expect out of education as a matter of course and reward.
* Stress Behaviours, a re-hash of the four humors considering how different types re-act to specific situations and conditions in defence of their well-being.

Observable effects
These groups produce specific influences that may reassure, relax, irritate or drain you etc.
* A Square group consists of two complimentary relations that provide the most relaxation from neuroses and restore the mental balance between them.
* A Ring of Social Control involves four types that share supervision relations between them in a continuous loop.
* A Ring of Social Respect involves four types that share benefaction relations between them in a continuous loop.
* A Health group can mentally rejuvenate each other whilst a Bouquet group does the opposite.
