<h1><span>Why join Definitive-Socionics.Info?</span></h1> <ol> <li>For <strong>remarkable content integration</strong>. It doesn't matter what kind of content you contribute it will all get highly integrated together. For example, you create a new article, blog post or glossary definition and it will automatically get linked to a dedicated discussion in the forum. There can be little or no mistakes because the admin and moderators can move/rename/tidy-up etc. content-pages/forum-posts where deemed necessary;</li> <li>For <strong>monetization possibilities</strong>. Any content can be affiliated to relevant products and services providing the code you need to embed is <em>currently</em> supported by the platform. This removes "the non-profit dilemma" as expressed in the case studies below;</li> <li>For <strong>more collaboration</strong> and less bickering over who's "right"?;</li> <li>To <strong>embrace Web 2.0 philosophy</strong> and combine many different web services and methods to aid and assist in how we learn about the world through "socionic eyes";</li> <li>To <strong>market the Socionics framework</strong> and the various unexplored potential off-shoots for new products and services that solve real-world problems;</li> <li>To <strong>become guru's of Socionics</strong> so we can create new opportunities for ourselves and others in the world of value-exchange (business);</li> <li>To <strong>increase your on-line presence</strong> and gain credibility for your ideas — new and refined;</li> </ol> <div class="wiki-note"> <h2><span>Case Study #1: Wikidot vs. Wordpress</span></h2> <p><a href="http://www.wordpress.com" >Wordpress.com</a> (and most other FREE blogging platforms like Blogger, Typepad etc.) represent to me "the non-profit dilemma". In other words, when will all that public thought recording and journaling make any difference to one's self <strong>and</strong> others financially? Likely not at all <em>currently</em>.</p> <h2><span>Case Study #2: Wikidot vs. phpBB</span></h2> <p><a href="http://www.phpbb.com/" >phpBB</a> is the most widely used Open Source forum solution. Again "the non-profit dilemma" ensues. After hundreds of thousands of forum posts who actually benefits apart from those "militant members" who gain a sense of pride with their online presence.</p> <h2><span>Case Study #3: Wikidot vs. MediaWiki</span></h2> <p><a href="http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki" >MediaWiki</a> is a web-based wiki software application used by the grand-daddy wiki of them all — Wikipedia.org as well as many others. Yet again "the non-profit dilemma" ensues. Inevitably it seems that contributors want and need compensation for their efforts else content generation suffers.</p> </div> <br/>Forum category: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/c-16451">General Discussions / The Lounge</a><br/>Forum thread: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/t-25744/7-benefits-of-joining-definitive-socionics-info">7 Benefits of Joining Definitive-Socionics.Info</a>

<h1><span>What was "web 1.0" philosophy?</span></h1> <p>In my <em>last</em> opinion it was basically "the 80/20 rule". In other words, 80% content produced by the website creators, designers and developers with 20% content (if we were lucky enough!) coming from the visitors.</p> <h1><span>What is this "web 2.0" philosophy?</span></h1> <p>In my <em>current</em> view its basically "the 20/80 rule". In other words, 20% content produced by "a guy or small group of guys" who startup a website leaving 80% of the remaining content to get freely published by visitors with little or no restrictions that the original authors had.</p> <h1><span>So who "owns" the site?</span></h1> <p>In essence — nobody does although somebody had to take charge to get the thing up and running.</p> <p>The Admin (<span class="printuser avatarhover"><a href="http://www.wikidot.com/user:info/whiteknight82" ><img class="small" src="http://www.wikidot.com/common--images/avatars/38/38455/a16.png" alt="WhiteKnight82" /></a><a href="http://www.wikidot.com/user:info/whiteknight82" >WhiteKnight82</a></span>) is simply the founder of a new community network.</p> <p>In the mean time *anyone* who joins the site is as free as the Admin to create/edit pages and write articles for fun and (potential) profit (with affiliate links such as the one's i've embedded in the <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/edutainment">edutainment</a> section.</p> <h1><span>Closing thoughts</span></h1> <p>"Web 2.0" therefore is the "new race" to use the internet as a viable business platform for *anyone* willing to exploit it in a way that benefits self and others.</p> <br/>Forum category: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/c-16452">General Discussions / The Padded Room</a><br/>Forum thread: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/t-25598/it-s-not-about-me-its-about-us">It's not about me, its about us...</a>

<p>I didn't realize that the wiki is so wikid that its too wide specifically on the <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/start">start</a> page. I can solve this by either playing around with the tables, making a warning that site <em>looks</em> best at "high resolutions" or I can do the drastic thing of removing the sidebar.</p> <p>A bit of a silly issue since it only affects the <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/start">start</a> page as far as I can tell. Everything else appears fine as it was meant to be. I shall have to tweak the <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/start">start</a> page then although its not really a priority at the moment.</p> <br/>Forum category: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/c-16451">General Discussions / The Lounge</a><br/>Forum thread: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/t-25166/width-issue">Width Issue</a>

						 <h1><span>What are superlatives?</span></h1> <h3><span>"sue-pur-la-tives"</span></h3> <blockquote> <p><strong>highest in degree of comparison</strong>: expressing the highest degree of grammatical comparison of an adjective or adverb — MSN Encarta</p> </blockquote> <p>The general rule of thumb is to amend an adverb with "-ist" or "-ing" or to add a quantifier like "most" or "least" and so on and so forth.</p> <h1><span>Examples:</span></h1> <p>The superlative form of: "great" is "greatest" ; "small" is "smallest" ; "light" is "lightest" ; etc.</p> <p>Also valid are short superlative statements such as: "most rewarding"; "least knowledgeable" ; "most sociable" ; etc.</p> <p>Of course its all fun and games though the next question once a superlative statement has been made is to ask one's self, "by what standard(s)?". Thus heating up the debate surrounding the superlative proclamation made.</p> <h1><span>Why might this be a useful exercise?</span></h1> <p>I believe that by identifying extremes of excellence so to speak I can then look at the "big picture" at a glance with a view to then seeing myself as "incomplete" in areas that I can choose to work on.</p> <h2><span>Superlatives + Socionics = "A basis for personal growth"</span></h2> <table class="wiki-content-table"> <tr> <th colspan="3">Alpha Quadra</th> </tr> <tr> <td>"most independent"</td> <td>"most innocent"</td> <td>"most organized"</td> </tr> <tr> <td>"least religious"</td> <td>"least obligated"</td> <td>"least old-fashioned"</td> </tr> <tr> <th colspan="3">Beta Quadra</th> </tr> <tr> <td>"most intrepid"</td> <td>"most devilish"</td> <td>"most enduring"</td> </tr> <tr> <td>"least dogmatic"</td> <td>"least afraid"</td> <td>"least nonsense"</td> </tr> <tr> <th colspan="3">Gamma Quadra</th> </tr> <tr> <td>"most enterprising"</td> <td>"most shrewd"</td> <td>"most risk-taking"</td> </tr> <tr> <td>"least individualistic"</td> <td>"least irrational"</td> <td>"least child-like"</td> </tr> <tr> <th colspan="3">Delta Quadra</th> </tr> <tr> <td>"most conservative"</td> <td>"most charitable"</td> <td>"most self-sacrificing"</td> </tr> <tr> <td>"least capitalistic"</td> <td>"least amoral"</td> <td>"least atheist"</td> </tr> </table> <p style="text-align: center;">(subject to change as and when)</p> <br/>Forum category: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/c-16450">General Discussions / The Bar</a><br/>Forum thread: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/t-25006/socionics-superlatives">Socionics &amp; Superlatives</a>

<h1><span>"Web 2.0" Generation</span></h1> <p>This "web 2.0" wiki allows <strong>you</strong>, the reader, to contribute as much or as little as you like with no-fixed commitments. To illustrate this idea I embed an edu-taining video for your learning pleasure:</p> <table class="wiki-content-table"> <tr> <th colspan="3">"Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the internet as a platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform." — Tim O'Reilly</th> </tr> <tr> <td style="text-align: center;"><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NLlGopyXT_g&amp;rel=1&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6&amp;border=0" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NLlGopyXT_g&amp;rel=1&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6&amp;border=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355" /></object></td> <td style="text-align: center;"><iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=sociforhumabe-20&amp;o=1&amp;p=8&amp;l=as1&amp;asins=0123740347&amp;fc1=000000&amp;IS2=1&amp;lt1=_blank&amp;lc1=0000FF&amp;bc1=FFFFFF&amp;bg1=FFFFFF&amp;f=ifr" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"></iframe></td> </tr> </table> <h1><span>The point of this post</span></h1> <p>To illustrate how participating in the forum has as much "freedom" as one has to edit and create pages. I, the admin, don't care too much what gets written in the forum as long as its somewhat relevant to Socionics (where stated).</p> <p>Unlike a forum platform like <a href="http://www.phpbb.com/" >phpBB</a> this forum allows anyone, not just the admin, to embed affiliate links should you wish to do some article marketing. In fact you can embed anything that wikidot supports, refer to [<a href="http://www.wikidot.com/doc:embedding" >http://www.wikidot.com/doc:embedding</a>].</p> <br/>Forum category: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/c-16452">General Discussions / The Padded Room</a><br/>Forum thread: <a href="http://www.definitive-socionics.info/forum/t-24973/web-2-0-philosophy">Web 2.0 Philosophy</a>
