Employers Are Biased

A "post-setback" reflection…

The worst thing about having an appeciation of how society works by the standards set forth in Socionics is that I can usually see biases everywhere in what Jung called the "collective consciousness".

This is where someone doesn't stop to think for a minute and treat someone else like an individual with potential rather than another "drone" in the collective who either has pre-programmed skills or else viewed as redundant.

In other words I'm describing the old catch-22 scenario of not able to get experience because no one is willing to provide it (at their expense).

Beware of the Gamma Employer

I have recently experienced the adulthood nature of a gamma employer. In other words, let's just get to the nitty gritty of what you can do for us, how we can exploit you and sell your wholesale values at retail profit.

Appreciate the Alpha Manager

Let's consider the childlike nature of the alpha manager. Note that I didn't say employer. They have more social harmonic concern rather than cut-throat "what can you do for our company?" style probing in an interview.

Why do they waste my time with an over-hyped opportunity?

When a job interview is part of "the game" for some…

Make sure you watch this parody of a job interview to the end to find the answer to the question raised above. An Alpha manager wouldn't "test" you in pseudo-scientific ways like a Gamma set of employers might as I have experienced time and time again. For example, not getting a job because they had to 'swing it' based on psychometric test results (that mean nothing in reality except to the organisation that developed it) and other noted down points & answers (that say little or nothing about the person as a human member of the potential team).

A bias towards the cold and cut-throat business of your skills and a lack of warmth and ethics results in a notorious "pyramid scheme" of talented robots whom fall into place to serve the "chief controller" aka CEO.

What does Gamma and Alpha have in common?

They both share appreciations of capitalism where Gamma tends to steer towards the "dark-side" and alpha tends to lean towards the "light-side". When it comes to making money you have the gamma obsession with making enough money to fit in with their paternal nature. With alpha however we have a reasonable desire to make sufficient money in line with their pre-adolescent nature.

In my experience Gamma usually wins by default since the pursuit of selling your little ass values at huge retail profit is more important than simply giving you an opportunity to make the odd 200 quid a week to happily live off.

Its your average Gamma's who want to make loads of money to buy things like property, shares, stocks and frugally give to charity when coerced as good for their PR. Alpha's on the other hand simply want to make money as a "necessary evil" to do more in life with a different kind of frugality which is more based on a good mix of "enough is enough" vs "things I need will cost money".

Alphas tend to be "intellectual pioneers" i.e. on the fore-front of thought and ideas. Gamma tends to be "enterprising pioneers" i.e. on the fore-front of finding ways to reliably make money. Thus we could say that Gamma is the benefactor of Alpha since the value in ideas is how they get used for profit. For example, one fully marketed product is better than a thousand ideas that Alpha's can have.

Alpha men & women

Essentially the members of the alpha quadra are analogous to a federation where poverty and disease has been abolished because we aren't driven by the greed associated with "traditional capitalism" that Gamma promotes. We all live like "millionaires" because the economics of the future have reached equilibrium.

Alpha's obviously pioneered the multi-level marketing business model that Gamma misconstrues as another "pyramid scheme" because that's essentially all they know in traditional corporate lands.

Gamma are experts in real pyramids schemes who have the capital to bribe, i mean, fund a team of PR consultants to make their companies look good for those who want to get exploited, i mean, have an opportunity for work and growth. They also spend sh*tloads of money on advertising which is like an uphill struggle to maintain profits.

MLM however is like an "inverse pyramid scheme" where a person enters at the bottom and sits at the top of their own organisation at the same time. Any actual pyramid structure is simply the natural result of REAL ATTAINED PROGRESS by the individual and their self-lead followers who remain individuals in their own right with their own organisation. Eventually after plenty of effort this leads to "financial freedom" and "economic equilibrium".

Capitalism Styles: Alpha vs Gamma

We could say that Alpha-Caps are not your stereotypical greedy capitalists. They are however aware of the importance of value creation (e.g. getting paid for something you produce of benefit to self and others) although physical money itself remains a "necessary evil" in how that value is represented.

Gamma-Caps on the other hand are your traditional stingy capitalists that Communists, Socialists and other anti-capitalist movements hate. They don't strive for rational progress. They strive for profit and "good enough" progress to keep people happy in the short-term. This leads to rich unhappy people who lost one crucial element, the alpha "inner child" factor as a component of true happiness.

Thus we live in an upside-down world where the rich greedy bastards make money off goods and services we either don't really need or just ain't good enough that need constant support. However we also have the more honest businessmen and women like myself who begin with the idea that everything is essentially "free" until it benefits you, at which point you can "buy the book" or "donate" etc.

What about Beta and Delta's view on capitalism?

Beta's are mostly Socialists caught up in this mixed alpha-gamma view on the "correct way" with capitalism. They just get involved where ever they can to achieve what they need. Delta's are spiritualists and quite anti-capitalist and don't like the idea of running their organised non-profit charities like business ventures thus they tend to have very modest views on making money.

So what employers are not biased?

I would have to say that Alpha managers (not cut-throat employers) are the least biased if not unbiased towards the recruitment of individuals due to the high degree of acceptance of a person's social role and potential.

It's those Gamma Employers (not people person managers) you got to be weary of. They only care about picking the best person for the job regardless of "your life" and "who you are as a person". They are driven by profit in which greed has to be a component for their motivation. For example, Bill Gates gives a lot of his wealth away to charity which is commendable yes although due to his Gamma nature he is still disliked by many.

Post Script

I told a Gamma Employer that I use Linux as my primary operating system. Not only did he mispronounce it as "L-EYE-nicks" rather than "Lin-nicks" he assumed I run it "for fun" and not as a "serious operating system". Talk about the close-minded nature of Gamma Employers who only care about doing what makes money rather than what's ethically sound.
