Introduction

In this article I would like to propose (yet) another model of society using that magic number that is "4". The following basic model is an extension of the four quadras with the added twist of their essences which took me a while to figure out and agree upon so let's see what you think…

• The Alpha Quadra
  • Science (Innovation of new ideas/concepts)
• The Delta Quadra
  • Community (Indoctrination of accepted ideas/concepts)
• The Beta Quadra
  • Art (Achievement of personal creativity)
• The Gamma Quadra
  • Business (Commercialisation of values generated)

I propose that a "rounded society" has the inclusion of the four essences of Science, Community, Art, and Business (which can be remembered with the acronym S.C.A.B.). These four essences, in my view, lead to a productively healthy society.

  • Pseudo-Science (Mental juggling of ideas)
• The Delta Quadra
  • Extortion (Unfair opportunities for personal growth)
• The Beta Quadra
  • Mysticism (Mental escapism from life)
• The Gamma Quadra
  • Exploitation (Unfair trading of values)

I counter-propose that a "square society" has the inclusion of the four essences of Pseudo-Science, Extortion, Mysticism, and Exploitation (which can be remembered with the acronym P.E.M.E.). These four essences, in my view, lead to a stagnant and unhealthy society.

Afterthoughts

What I have done here is similar to the Enneagram model of personality that looks at healthy and unhealthy states. So, society is either moving forward or stagnant because someone somewhere may be "ill" or "well" with regard to the reference points I have proposed.
