Activity relations occur between two members of the same quadra who share either introversion or extroversion. Relations of activity can resemble complimentary relations since the super-id functions are both present in the ego functions of the other partner.
However, activity relations are somewhat less fulfilling than complimentary relations. Each partner's dominant function is the others Hidden Agenda function. Activity relations are better suited to friendly correspondence. — Wikipedia
A classic thought…
"Unless a life is activated by sustained purpose it can become a depressingly haphazard affair." — Richard Guggenheimer
Spotting an activity pair
Simply take a type and reverse its last three letters to get its corresponding activity pair as summarised in the table below and sorted by quadra.
| Alpha | Beta | Gamma | Delta |
|---|---|---|---|
| ENTp & ESFj | ESTp & ENFj | ESFp & ENTj | ENFp & ESTj |
| ISFp & INTj | INFp & ISTj | INTp & ISFj | ISTp & INFj |

A closer look at each pair…
Assuming you've read the description above from Wikipedia you should now have a general idea about activity relations. However since each type differs in their own right (as the small groups expose) each activity relation has its own dynamics or special ways of progressing too. The following table attempts to clarify the eight specific pairs of activity relations.

Closing thoughts on Activity Relations
I believe the activity relation represents the basis of a "casual relationship" since it seems to work best in short bursts of interaction in my view. It may of course "convert" to a long-term relationship with the following qualities…
- Likeness in quadra may provide a reasonably good understanding and comfort with little or no extra effort.
- Likeness in introversion or extroversion may provide further natural understanding of social needs.
- Difference in clubs can be quite complimentary encouraging an exchange of varied interests.
- Difference in temperaments (i.e. arrhythmic) can either be exciting or irritating depending on the situation.
- Difference in stimuli and argumentation may fulfil some needs or may demote your individual growth.
- Difference in erotic attitudes can be a good duality for satisfying the id1 of each partner.
- Difference in pedagogic needs may prove useful or not when undertaking joint study and projects.
- Difference in stress behaviours may prove a source of annoyance with the odd bit of excitement to keep you 'on your toes'.
